The Row Dental opened in a Grade A-listed New Town townhouse in 2023, styled so that it does not read as a clinic. Founder Dr Slaine Ker built it around one idea: a patient chasing a cosmetic result should not be posted around the city the moment the groundwork turns complex. Smile work, specialist treatment and consultant-led sedation sit under one roof.

Treatments and services

Cosmetic care is the signature — composite bonding, porcelain veneers, Enlighten whitening and Invisalign aligners, with lingual and tooth-coloured fixed braces where aligners cannot do the job. Behind it sits specialist provision: orthodontics for adults and children, endodontics, oral surgery, periodontics and prosthodontics. Implants run from single teeth and implant-supported bridges to All-on-4 arches and same-day teeth, with bone grafting and sinus lifts for people told elsewhere their jawbone ruled them out. General dentistry, urgent same-day appointments and hygiene complete the range.

Technology

Five surgeries share the building with a CBCT room, so three-dimensional imaging for implant and root canal planning is taken in-house — and other dentists send their own patients here for it. Hygiene runs on Guided Biofilm Therapy from the Swiss firm EMS: biofilm is disclosed with dye, lifted with AIRFLOW MAX, then PERIOFLOW for deep gum pockets and ultrasonic PIEZON, gentle enough for veneers and implants.

The team

Dr Slaine Ker studied at Dublin Dental School, treated facial trauma and cancer patients in the maxillofacial unit at Galway University Hospital, then a decade on London’s Harley Street; in Edinburgh she was named best dentist in the under-35 category at the Dentistry Scotland Awards. Around her practise specialist orthodontist Nirmal Shah, endodontist Carol Tait, restorative specialist Sapna Patel, implant dentist Duncan Weir and oral surgeon Kaila Girvan, plus consultant anaesthetists Ally Ruthven and Scott McNeill, who run intravenous conscious sedation with pre-operative assessment and continuous monitoring.
